Field Flattening and Restoration of Level Corrected Images (rev. 2)

Abstract

This article describes the method of field flattening and original pixel value restoration of level corrected images. The PIXY system treats with images after various types of image processing. So the field flattening cannot be done by simple division, as in case of raw CCD images. This article describes the way of field flattening utilizing the inclination of noise variance and shows that the restoration of the original pixel value before level correction can be also achieved with this method. Finally it shows you some results of experiments with real images.
