Discovery Information
Seiichi Yoshida, MISAO Project; and Ken-ichi Kadota, Ageo, Saitama, Japan, discovered a new variable star MisV0898.
It was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new variable stars from images taken by Kadota, then confirmed by Yoshida.
Special Notes
Identified with 2MASS 1800214-304831, (J=10.764 mag, J-Ks=0.739 mag. It is probably not a red variable because of the small J-Ks value. Seiichi Yoshida revealed that it is clearly found on the DSS 2 R-band and Bj-band images, which also implies that it is not a red variable.
However, Yoshida and John Greaves found that it is not recorded in any of GSC 1.1, USNO-A2.0, IRAS, 2MASS, UCAC1, GSC 2.2, despite of the bright peak magntiude (11.6 mag).
However, further research revealed that it is recorded in USNO-A2.0 and USNO-B1.0. The R.A. and Decl. was inaccurate.
