It was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new variable stars from images taken by Ken-ichi Kadota, Ageo City, Saitama, Japan, then confirmed by Seiichi Yoshida.
V997 Sgr is 2.4 arcmin from MisV0844. No star brighter than 14.0 mag was detected at the cataloged position of V997 Sgr. However, V997 Sgr is a short period variable star between 13.8 - 14.6 mag. On the other hand, MisV0844 is probably a red variable, considering the large magnitude range and the identification with IRAS 17570-2947. Therefore, MisV0844 is probably another new variable star. MisV0093 is 3.1 arcmin from MisV0844, which is another variable star.
