It was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new variable stars from images taken by Ken-ichi Kadota, Ageo City, Saitama, Japan, then confirmed by Seiichi Yoshida.
V1229 Cyg is 1.5 arcmin from MisV0779. No star brighter than 14.7 mag was detected at the catalogued position of V1229 Cyg on our unfiltered CCD images. V1229 Cyg is classified as an eclipsing variable star. Considering the large distance, MisV0779 is probably another new variable object.
John Greaves reported that the position of V1229 Cyg was revised in IBVS 4799 and came to coincide with MisV0779.
