* Discovery Information

Seiichi Yoshida, MISAO Project; Nobuo Ohkura, Okayama, Japan; and Ken-ichi Kadota, MISAO Project, discovered a new variable star MisV1181.

It was picked up by Seiichi Yoshida from the candidates of new variable stars detected by the PIXY system 2 from images taken by Nobuo Ohkura, and confirmed by Ken-ichi Kadota.

The identification is researched by Taichi Kato (Kyoto University), John Greaves, and Seiichi Yoshida.

John Greaves pointed out that this is a possible cataclysmic variable. We reported this discovery to IAUC as a possible nova or new transient object in 2001.

* Special Notes

We discovered a nova, which had been missed in 2001, in 2002. It was 12.7 mag in 2001 September, 14.3 mag in November, but faded to 20 mag in 2002 October. It was not found in any past Palomar plates nor DSS images.

It took some time to be regarded as a nova, because IRAS 22562+6606 exists closly, and one of the Palomar plate images was erroneous.

This nova was announced in IAUC 8014.
